Biography

Aditi A. Sharma, M.D., is Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Dermatology at the University of California, Irvine. She completed her Doctor of Medicine at Virginia Commonwealth School of Medicine, followed by a preliminary medicine internship at UCLA Olive View, dermatology residency at UC Irvine, and a fellowship in Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Dermatologic Oncology at the University of California, San Francisco. Sharma is board certified as a Fellow of the American College of Dermatology and a Fellow of the American College of Mohs Surgeons.

Sharma serves as Co-Director of the Clinical Innovation Incubator at UC Irvine, where she organized and launched the inaugural program to foster collaborative development of clinical solutions among physicians. She is also the CEO and Founder of Medoneers Inc., where she developed a mobile application for cardiac resuscitation documentation currently in use at Massachusetts General Hospital. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Sharma led the Universal Masking Pandemic Response Team at UC Irvine, coordinating filtration efficiency testing with MIT and a multi-hospital recycling initiative that produced face masks from sterilization for healthcare workers.

Sharma's work has been featured in the Los Angeles Times, Orange County Register, Dermatology Times, and Forbes. She was included in the World Health Organization Compendium for Innovative Medical Devices in 2021 and received the AAMC National ORR Resident Community Service Award in 2020. She received the Top 10 Alumni Under 10 Award from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2022. Her research includes development of artificial intelligence platforms for analyzing Mohs surgical scars and evaluation of immunostains in melanoma in situ. She has contributed to multiple World Health Organization Medical Device Technical Series publications on medical equipment management and health technology assessment.
