I'm a grad student, postdoc, or researcher — is ScholarConnect open to me?
Currently, ScholarConnect is available to all academic appointees at UC Irvine.
What if I don't have a CV?
Currently, a CV is required to generate a profile.
How long will it take to prepare my profile?
It typically takes about a week to process your CV into a profile and for a team member to review it for accuracy.
Will I get a chance to review my profile before it's published?
Yes, we'll send you an email notification when your profile is ready for review. You'll have a chance to edit before it's published.
Can I edit my profile?
Yes, you can edit every portion of your profile.
How do I keep my profile updated?
You can edit your profile at any time by logging in. We're also working on a feature that will let you upload a revised CV to automatically update your profile.
Can I add a link to my personal website?
Yes. ScholarConnect will try to pull a website link from your CV, but you can always log in and add or update it yourself.
What if I discover errors in my profile?
You can login and edit to correct it yourself or email us at scholarconnect@uci.edu. Sharing the issue will help us to investigate and provide a fix for everyone.
What if I change my mind about participating?
You control whether your profile is published. Simply log into ScholarConnect and click the Hide button. You can also change your participation setting in ScholarSteps by clicking your user icon in the top right, then choosing the Settings option.
