Your scholarship deserves to be visible. ScholarConnect transforms your CV into a clean, searchable public profile—helping researchers, partners, and the community discover your expertise while strengthening UCI’s research presence. No separate website to build or maintain—just your work, clearly presented and easy to find.
How to participate
All academics at UC Irvine can participate in this campus-wide initiative by opting in during the ScholarSteps merit & promotion process or by simply logging in and uploading a current CV.
Choose to participate
There are two ways to get started with ScholarConnect:
Upload your CV directly
Log in to ScholarConnect and upload a current CV. No need to wait for a merit & promotion review.
Opt in during ScholarSteps certification
During your merit & promotion review, you'll see an option on the certification screen to participate in ScholarConnect.
Preferences can be changed at any time from the User Settings screen.
Review & publish your draft profile
Your CV is processed securely using ZotGPT, UC Irvine's confidential AI service, to create a starting draft. When your draft profile is ready for review, you will receive an email inviting you to edit and publish. You have full control to edit any part of your profile before publishing. What to expect
Next steps after opting in
After you opt in to ScholarConnect (either through ScholarSteps or by uploading your CV directly), you will receive an email with a link to your draft profile for review. Your profile is not automatically published. You have full control over reviewing and publishing your profile once you are satisfied with it.
Privacy & data usage
We take your privacy seriously. Your CV data is processed securely using ZotGPT, UC Irvine's secure and confidential AI service, to generate your ScholarConnect profile. We only publish profiles for faculty who explicitly opt in. If you choose to hide your profile at any time, it will not be publicly visible.
Search engine visibility
We plan to include published profiles in search engine results to maximize your visibility to potential collaborators and partners. However, you will have the option to opt out of search engine indexing if you prefer to keep your profile discoverable only through ScholarConnect.
