Andreea A. Nanci

Biography

Andreea A. Nanci, M.D., M.B.A., is Medical Director of UCI Cancer Center – Newport and Health Science Clinical Professor, Step 3, in the Division of Hematology/Oncology, Department of Medicine at the University of California, Irvine. Nanci received her M.D. from Johann Wolfgang Goethe-University Medical School in Frankfurt, Germany, and completed her internal medicine residency at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, followed by a fellowship in hematology/oncology at the University of California, Irvine. She also completed an additional clinical fellowship in hematology/oncology at Northwest Hospital in Frankfurt, Germany, and earned an M.B.A. from the Healthcare Executive MBA Program at the University of California, Irvine.

Nanci's research has focused on immunotherapy approaches for cancer treatment, including antibody-specific immunotherapy for ovarian carcinoma and DNA immunization strategies to enhance dendritic cell function. She received the Ambulatory Care Resident of the Year Award from Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 2000 and the Young Clinical Investigator Award from The Flight Attendant Medical Research Institute in 2003. Her work has been published in journals including Cancer, Hybridoma, and Cancer Biotherapy and Radiopharmaceuticals.

Nanci serves as co-investigator on numerous national and institutional clinical trials through cooperative groups including Alliance, SWOG, ECOG-ACRIN, NRG Oncology, and industry sponsors. She has contributed to professional service through committee participation at Hoag Memorial Presbyterian Hospital, including the Clinical Quality Committee and Clinical Informational Technology Governance Committee, and served on the Komen Foundation Grant Review Committee for Orange County. Nanci is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the American Association for Cancer Research, the American Society of Hematology, and the Medical Oncology Association of Southern California.
