Arash Rezazadeh Kalebasty
Biography
Arash Rezazadeh Kalebasty, M.D., is Clinical Professor Step 2 in the Division of Hematology/Oncology, Department of Medicine, and Department of Urology at the University of California, Irvine. He received his M.D. from Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences in Tehran, Iran, and completed his fellowship in Medical Oncology and Hematology at the University of Louisville's James Graham Brown Cancer Center. Rezazadeh Kalebasty specializes in genitourinary medical oncology, with a focus on the treatment of prostate, bladder, kidney, and testicular cancers.
Rezazadeh Kalebasty has served as principal investigator on more than 70 clinical trials investigating novel therapies for genitourinary malignancies, including studies of immunotherapy, targeted therapy, and antibody-drug conjugates. He has been principal investigator on trials that have contributed to regulatory approvals, including studies of erdafitinib, sacituzumab govitecan, and enfortumab vedotin in urothelial carcinoma, as well as darolutamide in metastatic hormone-sensitive prostate cancer. His research has been published in journals including The New England Journal of Medicine, The Lancet, The Lancet Oncology, Journal of Clinical Oncology, and European Urology.
At UCI, Rezazadeh Kalebasty serves as Permanent Chair of the Oncology Protocol Review and Monitoring Committee and is a member of the Clinical Research Oversight Committee. He is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the European Society for Medical Oncology. Rezazadeh Kalebasty received the UCI School of Medicine Clinical Faculty Mentor of the Year award for faculty mentoring other faculty and the Trainee Mentoring Award for excellence in mentoring clinical research trainees in 2025.
