Biography

Christina Ling, M.D., is HS Assistant Clinical Professor in the Division of Gastroenterology at the University of California, Irvine Medical Center. She received her M.D. from George Washington University School of Medicine in 2014, completed her internal medicine residency at Los Angeles County Hospital/University of Southern California, and her gastroenterology fellowship at the University of New Mexico/Albuquerque VA Hospital in 2020. She also completed a visiting IBD fellowship program at Mayo Clinic in 2020.

Dr. Ling's clinical and research interests focus on inflammatory bowel disease and gastrointestinal oncology. She serves as sub-investigator or sub-primary investigator on multiple clinical trials, including studies evaluating novel therapeutics for ulcerative colitis and diagnostic tools for Barrett's esophagus and Crohn's disease. Her research has been published in journals including Digestive Diseases and Sciences, Endoscopy International Open, and Cell Biology and Toxicology, with work spanning topics from celiac disease diagnosis to the effects of microplastics on gastrointestinal health.

Dr. Ling holds multiple committee positions within the UCI gastroenterology fellowship program, including the Clinical Competency Committee, Program Evaluation Committee, and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee. She maintains an active clinical practice and serves as an attending physician for both outpatient endoscopic procedures and inpatient gastroenterology consultations. She has mentored numerous gastroenterology fellows, internal medicine residents, and medical students in clinical care and research.
