Biography
Christine L. Cadiz, PharmD, MA, BCPS, APh, is Health Sciences Associate Clinical Professor in the School of Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of California, Irvine, with a clinical practice site at UCI Health in cardiology. She received her Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of California, San Diego Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences and completed a PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency at the University of California, San Francisco Medical Center. Her clinical and research focus centers on cardiovascular pharmacotherapy, particularly heart failure management, guideline-directed medical therapy optimization, and medication safety using electronic health records and clinical prediction models.
Cadiz has established multiple clinical pharmacy services throughout her career, including developing a multidisciplinary pharmacist-managed clinic for hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy and an intensive guideline-directed medical therapy optimization clinic at UCI Health. She previously established transitions of care pharmacy services at Palomar Medical Center as part of the Community-Based Care Transitions Program, a CMS initiative serving over 3,000 patients, and designed an ASHP-accredited PGY2 Transitions of Care residency training program. Her research has been published in journals including the International Journal of Cardiology, BMC Medical Informatics and Decision Making, and the Journal of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy, with work focusing on clinical prediction models for adverse drug events, health disparities in cardiovascular care, and pharmacogenomic applications.
Cadiz serves on the Board of Directors for the California Society of Health-System Pharmacists and chairs the organization's Awards Committee. She is Director of the UCI School of Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences Residency Teaching Certificate Program and serves on multiple committees including the Health Equity Collaborative Task Force and the PharmD Education Committee.
