Daniel J. Munley

Biography

Daniel J. Munley, M.D., is Professor of Internal Medicine in the Division of Medicine and Faculty in the Internal Medicine Residency Program at the University of California, Irvine School of Medicine. He also serves as Course Director for the General Internal Medicine Ambulatory Elective for fourth-year medical students and holds an academic appointment on the Admissions Committee for the Internal Medicine Residency Program. Dr. Munley received his Doctor of Medicine from Creighton University School of Medicine in 2018 and completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Phoenix in 2021, where he was selected to serve as Chief Resident for the following year.

At UC Irvine, Dr. Munley manages and teaches resident physicians, medical students, and nursing students as an attending primary care physician. He holds a joint appointment in the Sue and Bill Gross School of Nursing, and is a faculty preceptor in the PACE program, he provides first-year medical students with early exposure to patient care in primary care settings. Additionally Dr. Munley is a Career Advisor in the School of Medicine, assisting students across all four years with navigating medical school, residency applications, and board examinations. Dr. Munley holds a Master of Science in Medical Physiology from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and a Bachelor of Arts and Sciences with a double major in Biology and Arabic Language from Washington University in St. Louis.
