Biography

Erin Heather Healy, M.D., is Assistant Professor, Medical Director, and Residency Program Director in the Department of Radiation Oncology at the UC Irvine Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center. She specializes in the treatment of breast and gynecologic cancers and brachytherapy. Prior to joining UC Irvine in 2022, Healy served as Assistant Professor in the Department of Radiation Oncology at The Ohio State University, Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital & Richard J. Solove Research Institute from 2019 to 2021.

Healy has contributed to research on radiation therapy techniques and outcomes for breast and gynecologic cancers, with particular focus on regional nodal irradiation, accelerated partial breast irradiation, and brachytherapy approaches. She serves as Site Principal Investigator for the NRG-GY037 trial investigating induction chemotherapy and immunotherapy for locally advanced cervical cancer. Her work has been published in journals including the International Journal of Radiation Oncology Biology Physics, Practical Radiation Oncology, and Brachytherapy. She received the ARRO Educator of the Year award in 2022-2023 and the Best of ACRO Abstract Award in 2018 for her research on regional nodal irradiation in the prone position for node-positive breast cancer.

Healy received her Doctor of Medicine from the University of California, Davis School of Medicine in 2014 and completed her residency in Radiation Oncology at The Ohio State University in 2019. She is board certified in Radiation Oncology by the American Board of Radiology and hold a medical license in the state of California. She is a member of the American Society for Radiation Oncology and the American Brachytherapy Society.
