Elizabeth Partida
Biography
Elizabeth Partida, M.S., is a Research Associate Specialist at the University of California-Irvine, where she conducts research on traumatic brain injury and spinal cord injury. Her work focuses on kinematic assessments of locomotion following repeated traumatic brain injuries in rats, biomaterials for spinal cord injury recovery, and tissue processing for immunohistochemistry. Partida has over 15 years of experience in neuroscience research, spanning academic and industry settings.
Partida earned her Master of Science in Biological Sciences from California State University, Los Angeles, where her graduate research investigated changes in behavior, pathology, and locomotion following spinal cord injury in rats, with emphasis on the role of inflammation post-injury. She has contributed to multiple peer-reviewed publications on spinal cord injury and traumatic brain injury, including research on neuroinflammation, cardiovascular dysfunction following spinal cord injury, and age-related factors in recovery and repair processes.
Prior to her current position, Partida worked as an Associate Scientist at MilliporeSigma for over six years, where she contributed to antibody development through screening and evaluation of cell lines. She has also held research positions at the University of California-Riverside and Drexel University's Spinal Cord Injury Research Center. Partida received her Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from the University of California, Irvine.
