Greg Everett Gin
Biography
Greg Everett Gin, M.D., is Health Sciences Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Urology at the University of California, Irvine, and Attending Urologist at the VA Long Beach Healthcare System, where he also serves as Residency Site Director for the UCI Urology Residency Program. A urologic oncologist, Gin focuses his clinical practice on the surgical management of genitourinary malignancies and has contributed to research examining treatment disparities, perioperative outcomes, and the utilization of systemic therapies in urologic cancers. He received his M.D. cum laude from Albany Medical College and completed a urologic oncology fellowship at City of Hope National Medical Center.
Gin has authored over 25 peer-reviewed publications in journals including Urology, Journal of Endourology, and Urologic Oncology: Seminars and Original Investigations. His research has examined factors affecting delays to neoadjuvant chemotherapy in bladder cancer, disparities in adherence to treatment guidelines for high-risk prostate cancer, and perioperative outcomes for minimally invasive renal surgery. He has also contributed to multi-institutional studies on aquablation therapy for benign prostatic hyperplasia and participated in the SOLAR Phase 2 Trial investigating systemic and tumor-directed therapy for oligometastatic prostate cancer.
Gin serves on multiple committees at VA Long Beach Medical Center, including the Robotics Committee, Institutional Review Board, and Cancer Committee, and has been a member of the Clinical Competence Committee for the UCI Urology Residency Program since 2016. He is a member of the American Urologic Association, Society of Urologic Oncology, and Urological Society for American Veterans. Dr. Gin was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha at Albany Medical College and received the Excellence in Teaching Award from the UCI Urology Department in 2019.
