Jean Vo

Biography

Jean Vo, M.D., is a Health Sciences Clinical Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology & Perioperative Care at the University of California, Irvine. He completed his medical degree at Florida International University, followed by his Anesthesiology Residency at the University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine and his Pediatric Anesthesiology Fellowship at the University of California, Los Angeles.

Since joining UCI in 2022, Dr. Vo has taken on multiple educational and administrative roles within the department. He serves as Course Director for the Medical Student Anesthesia 605A/D courses, where he facilitates both introductory and operating room-based anesthesia education for medical students. He also serves as a Clinical Competency Committee Advisor for the Anesthesiology Resident Class of 2028 and as Medical Student Mentorship Program Liaison.

Dr. Vo has contributed to the development of clinical guidelines and educational materials at UCI, including service briefs on brachytherapy, single ventricle physiology in labor and delivery, pediatric interventional gastroenterology, and preoperative evaluation of adults with pediatric diseases. He has presented research on topics including congenital heart disease, single ventricle physiology in obstetric anesthesia, and opioid-sparing pain regimens in pediatric burn patients at regional and national conferences. He is a member of the American Society of Anesthesiology and the Society of Pediatric Anesthesiology.
