Li-Mor David
Biography
Li-Mor David, M.Sc., is Assistant Specialist and Laboratory Manager in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of California, Irvine, where she works in the laboratory of Prof. Wendy F. Liu. Her research focuses on wound healing and macrophage biology, with an emphasis on biomaterial-based therapeutic systems and the role of immune cells in tissue repair and angiogenesis.
David designs and executes in vivo, ex vivo, and in vitro studies using mouse and rat models, primary animal-derived cells, and GelMA hydrogel systems. Her work includes developing protocols for the isolation of neutrophil-derived extracellular vesicles for biomaterial delivery, investigating YAP signaling in macrophage function and tissue repair, and preparing tissue samples for single-cell RNA sequencing workflows. She also provides collaborative research support to the laboratory of Prof. Maxim Plikus, contributing to skin biology and regenerative medicine studies. In addition to her research responsibilities, she manages laboratory operations and supervises a team of ten undergraduate students.
David received an M.Sc. in Developmental Biology from the University of Haifa, Israel. Prior to her current position, she held roles in pharmaceutical quality control at Vitamed Pharmaceutical Industries and in scientific account management at Holland-Moran LTD, both in Israel.
