Lingwen Huang

Biography

Lingwen Huang, Ph.D., is a Continuing Lecturer in The Paul Merage School of Business at the University of California, Irvine. She received her Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania in 2014, where her dissertation examined the determinants of the gender gap reversal in education. Her research spans ESG investment, household finance, labor economics, and program evaluation.

Huang has served as a referee for journals including China Economics Quarterly, Journal of Human Capital, and Quantitative Economics. Her published work includes research on the impact of privatization on employment in China, which appeared in the Journal of Chinese Economic and Business Studies. Her current research projects examine gender pay gap disclosure and market responses, as well as gender differences in financial planning for retirement.

Prior to joining UC Irvine in 2017, Huang was a lecturer at the USC Marshall School of Business from 2014 to 2017. At UC Irvine, she teaches courses in finance and economics to MBA, Master of Finance, and undergraduate students, including foundations of finance, multinational finance, and microeconomics. She also advises master's students on capstone projects involving corporate financial decision-making and revenue optimization.
