Lisa Marie Taylor
Biography
Lisa Marie Taylor, M.A., is an Assistant Specialist I in the Department of Neurobiology and Behavior at the University of California, Irvine, where she works in the Yassa Laboratory. Taylor earned her Master of Arts in Cognitive Psychology from California State University, Fullerton in 2020. Her research focuses on identifying multimodal biomarkers of Alzheimer's disease pathophysiology in cognitively normal older adults and individuals with Down syndrome, examining the spatial and temporal progression of amyloid, tau, and neurodegeneration and their relationship to cognitive decline.
Taylor serves as one of the primary neuroimaging analysts for two large-scale, NIH-funded research programs: the Alzheimer's Biomarker Consortium–Down Syndrome (ABC-DS), a multi-site national consortium, and the Biomarker Exploration in Aging, Cognition, and Neurodegeneration (BEACoN) study. She manages end-to-end processing and analysis of a comprehensive multimodal neuroimaging pipeline encompassing structural MRI, amyloid-PET, tau-PET, FDG-PET, and resting-state fMRI across hundreds of participants and longitudinal timepoints. Taylor develops and maintains Python and MATLAB analysis pipelines supporting peer-reviewed publications and conference presentations, including scripts for PET quantification, hippocampal subfield segmentation, and functional connectivity analysis.
Taylor has co-authored over 15 peer-reviewed publications and more than 40 conference abstracts and presentations. She actively presents research findings at national and international scientific conferences including the Alzheimer's Association International Conference (AAIC), Society for Neuroscience (SfN), and the Trisomic 21 Research Society (T21RS) International Conference. Taylor collaborates with a multidisciplinary team of faculty, postdoctoral researchers, graduate students, and clinical coordinators across UC Irvine and partner institutions nationwide.
