Shirin Mansooridara

Postdoctoral Fellow, University of California, Irvine

Biography

Shirin Mansooridara, M.D., is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of California, Irvine. She received her medical degree from Islamic Azad University, Tehran Faculty of Medicine in Iran. Prior to her postdoctoral work, Mansooridara served as an Emergency Department Physician at Imam Khomeini Hospital in rural Iran, where she independently managed acute care for patients of all ages, and as a General Practitioner at Lavasani Hospital in Tehran, providing care to underserved populations.

At UC Irvine, Mansooridara has focused on neurocritical care research, particularly the application of time-resolved spectroscopy in stroke and subarachnoid hemorrhage patients. Her work has examined noninvasive methods to monitor cerebral oxygenation and microvascular perfusion during mechanical thrombectomy and vasospasm. She has contributed to multiple peer-reviewed publications and presented her research at national conferences including the Society of Vascular and Interventional Neurology and the Neurocritical Care Society.

Mansooridara has completed clinical observations with neurocritical care and stroke teams at UC Irvine, working with faculty in neurology. She also serves as a Medical Assistant at Aliso Ridge Behavioral Health, where she collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care. Her early research experience included animal studies at the Medical Sciences Research Centre in Tehran, where she investigated the neurological effects of natural compounds.
