New in ScholarConnect: profile photos, full titles, and a smarter search

We've rolled out a set of updates to ScholarConnect based on what we've heard from faculty. This release makes your profile more personal, ensures your full record is on display, and makes it easier for others to find you.

Add a Profile Photo – You can now upload a photo to your profile. A recognizable face helps collaborators, students, and industry partners connect a name to a person, and makes your profile feel more like you. Open your profile and click Edit to add or update your photo in a few clicks.

All Your Titles, Displayed – Many faculty hold more than one appointment or title, and ScholarConnect now shows all of them rather than just one. Your full set of roles appears on your profile, so your complete standing at UC Irvine is represented. When editing, you can drag your titles into the order you prefer.

Search That Handles Misspelled Names – Looking someone up no longer requires spelling their name perfectly. Our search now recognizes close matches, so a small typo or an unfamiliar spelling will still surface the right faculty member. This makes it far easier for collaborators to find you and your colleagues.

A Smoother Search Experience – We've made a number of refinements to the search page to make browsing results cleaner and more intuitive. Profiles now open in a new tab so you don't lose your place, the interface is better centered and more responsive, and results are presented more clearly.

These updates are part of our ongoing work to reduce administrative effort, give your research greater visibility, and open more doors for collaboration.
