Parvaneh Hassani, M.D.
Biography
Dr. Parvaneh Hassani is an international medical graduate, physician, researcher, educator, and healthcare innovator with a passion for improving patient care, mentoring future healthcare professionals, and advancing innovation in medicine.
She earned her Doctor of Medicine degree in Tehran, Iran, and gained extensive clinical experience in emergency medicine and intensive care while caring for patients in several high-volume hospitals in Tehran for three years before immigrating to the U.S. Since 2016, alongside her medical training and clinical practice, she has contributed to research projects and peer-reviewed publications, maintaining a strong interest in using evidence-based approaches to address clinical challenges and improve healthcare outcomes. These experiences gave her firsthand exposure to both the medical and human aspects of healthcare and reinforced her interest in improving access to quality care and supporting patients through difficult circumstances.
In 2022, she moved to the United States to continue her research and professional development. She spent approximately one year conducting postdoctoral research in a radiology laboratory at the University of Maryland and has been affiliated with the University of California, Irvine, since 2023, where she has participated in a variety of research and academic projects.
Her academic interests include radiology, advanced medical imaging, artificial intelligence in healthcare, preventive medicine, and patient-centered innovation. She has contributed to scientific publications, conference presentations, and award-recognized research projects. She is also the first author and project leader of an early-stage UCI-related research project developed in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team of students and researchers.
In addition to research, Dr. Hassani has participated in several healthcare innovation and patent-related projects in both Iran and the United States. She has completed fellowship training in artificial intelligence and healthcare innovation and continues to pursue educational opportunities focused on the intersection of medicine, technology, AI, and healthcare improvement.
Beyond her professional activities, service to others has remained an important part of her life. During medical school, she became increasingly aware of the challenges faced by patients who could not afford necessary medical care. This experience motivated her to establish a small charitable initiative that she continues to support today.
Since moving to the United States, she has also volunteered her time in mentorship, education, and personal development programs. She has worked with students, young professionals, and individuals seeking new opportunities, providing guidance and encouragement as they pursue their academic and career goals.
For more than ten years, Dr. Hassani has been involved in medical education and mentorship, helping support and guide medical students and physicians at different stages of their training and careers. She values education not only as a means of sharing knowledge but also as a way to help others build confidence and move forward in their professional journeys.
Dr. Hassani hopes to continue her medical training through residency in the United States while remaining involved in research, innovation, and education. Her long-term goal is to contribute to a healthcare system that is more effective, accessible, and patient-centered by combining scientific advancement with a strong commitment to service and human connection.
