Biography

Paola A. Guerrero-Rosada, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor in the School of Education at the University of California, Irvine. She received her Ph.D. in Education and Psychology from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Her research examines early childhood education policy and practice, with a focus on classroom quality, instructional practices, and the implementation of universal prekindergarten programs in mixed-delivery systems.

Guerrero-Rosada's work includes studies of Boston's Universal Pre-K expansion to community-based programs, examining factors that predict center participation in mixed-delivery systems and teacher experiences with quality improvement models. She has also led research on literacy instruction in Puerto Rico, including the design and evaluation of a literacy coaching program funded by the Puerto Rico Department of Education. Her research has been published in journals including Child Development, Early Childhood Research Quarterly, and Zeitschrift für Psychologie.

Guerrero-Rosada received a National Academy of Education/Spencer Dissertation Fellowship in 2022 and a Dissertation Funding Award from the Society for Research in Child Development. She serves on the Membership Committee of the Society for Research in Child Development and on the Editorial Board of Early Education and Development. Prior to her doctoral studies, she worked as an instructor in psychology and education in Colombia.
