Roxana Ghashghaei
Biography
Roxana Ghashghaei, M.D., is Health Sciences Associate Clinical Professor in the Division of Cardiology at the University of California, Irvine. She serves as Director of the Cardiac Amyloidosis Program. Dr. Ghashghaei earned her Doctor of Medicine from the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine, completed her internal medicine residency at UC San Diego, and her cardiovascular medicine fellowship at UC Irvine, where she served as Chief Fellow.
Dr. Ghashghaei is board certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Disease by the American Board of Internal Medicine, certified in Echocardiography by the National Board of Echocardiography, and certified in Nuclear Cardiology by the Board of Nuclear Cardiology.
Her clinical expertise includes echocardiography, nuclear cardiology, and cardiac amyloidosis.
Dr. Ghashghaei's research focuses on cardiac amyloidosis, heart failure, and cardiovascular biomarkers. She serves as principal investigator on multiple clinical trials and registries, including a Phase 3 study evaluating ALXN2220 in transthyretin amyloid cardiomyopathy and the Novel Incorporation of Cardiac & Extracardiac Amyloidosis Registry & Caregiver burden study. Dr. Ghashghaei had authored numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals, including Progress in Cardiovascular Diseases, Current Opinion in Cardiology, and the Journal of Cardiovascular Disease and Medicine.
She is deeply committed to education and mentorship, service as mentor to cardiology fellows, internal medicine residents, and medical students in cardiovascular research and clinical care.
