Biography

Yalda Yazdani, M.D., is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of California Irvine. She received her medical doctorate from the School of Medicine at Tabriz University of Medical Sciences, where her thesis focused on curcumin and targeting of molecular and metabolic pathways in multiple sclerosis. Her research spans cancer immunotherapy, nanomedicine, and viral immunopathology, with particular emphasis on drug delivery systems and immune modulation. At UC Irvine, she works on single-cell and spatial multi-omics in the classification and treatment of head and neck cancer.

Yazdani has published 39 peer-reviewed articles with over 850 citations, achieving an h-index of 15. Her publications appear in journals across multiple disciplines, including work on nanoparticle-based drug delivery systems, combination immunotherapy approaches, and biosensor development for disease detection. Her research encompasses both experimental laboratory work using in vitro and in vivo models and computational approaches involving statistical analysis of large medical databases.

Prior to her current position, Yazdani served as a postdoctoral researcher at the Immunology Research Center at Tabriz University of Medical Sciences from 2022 to 2024, where she conducted research using molecular and histological assays including qPCR, ELISA, Western blot, and immunohistochemistry. She has reviewed manuscripts for multiple journals including Laryngoscope, Otology & Neurotology, and Frontiers in Immunology. Her technical expertise includes cell culture, quantitative PCR, biomedical data analysis using R and SQL, and working with animal models.
